Creating a PAMM strategy

A PAMM strategy needs two things: a master account for you to trade, and a set of terms that investors see before they join. Portal sets up the first for you as part of creating the strategy.

The master account

The master account is the trading account you trade for the strategy. Every investor’s money is pooled in it.

You don’t need to have one ready. When you create a PAMM strategy, a new master account is created for it. You choose the platform, Mega1 or MetaTrader 5, and the currency the strategy runs in. The login details for the new account are sent to you by email.

This is different from MAM and Copy strategies, where you pick a trading account you already have.

Never deposit into the master account directly

Money only goes into a strategy through Invest, so every investor’s share is counted properly. That includes your own money. If you want to put your own money in, invest in your strategy the same way an investor would.

Creating the strategy

  1. Go to Invest → My strategies and choose Create strategy.
  2. Pick PAMM as the type.
  3. Give the strategy a name.
  4. Choose the platform and currency for the new master account.
  5. Set the terms:
    • the fees you’ll charge (see PAMM fees),
    • the minimum investment,
    • the rollover schedule: Daily at a time you choose, in UTC, or Manual, which means it only rolls over when you run it.
  6. Choose who can see it: Public or Private.
  7. Review everything, then create the strategy.

Choosing a rollover schedule

The schedule decides when your investors’ money actually moves. On a daily schedule, everything waiting is processed at the same time each day, and investors can see that time on your strategy page. On Manual, nothing is processed until you run a rollover yourself, so investors depend on you doing it. Either way, you can run an extra rollover at any time. See Managing investors and rollovers.

Rollover times are in UTC, not your local time.

After you create it

A Public strategy appears in Discover straight away. A Private one is only open to people you give the invite code to. You can switch between the two later in Settings.

A public web page you can share is separate. Your strategy doesn’t have one until you publish it from the Page tab.

Both are covered in Settings, your public page and sharing it.
