Finding and investing in a strategy

Finding a strategy

Invest → Discover lists the strategies open to new investors. Filter it to PAMM to hide MAM and Copy strategies, then sort by 7d return, total return, newest, most followers or largest.

Open Discover

Managers and IBs also share strategy pages directly. Those links look like portal.xbtfx.com/s/strategy-name and open the same strategy page.

Private strategies don’t appear in Discover at all. To join one you need the link and an invite code from the manager (see below).

Reading a strategy page

Start with Before you invest. It lists the fees, the minimum investment, and the rollover schedule, for example daily at 21:00 UTC with a 15 minute freeze. Those three things decide what you pay and when your money moves.

The performance chart shows results from trades that have closed, after fees. Trades that are still open only count once they close. Money that investors put in or take out never counts as profit or loss.

Some strategies hide figures like balance or open trades. That’s the manager’s choice, not a fault.

Past results don’t tell you what a strategy will do next.

Investing

  1. On the strategy page, choose Invest in this strategy. If you’re not signed in, you’ll be asked to sign up or sign in first, then brought back.
  2. Enter the amount in the strategy’s currency.
  3. Pick the wallet to pay from. If that wallet is in a different currency, the conversion is shown before you go any further.
  4. Check the minimum investment and the strategy’s terms, which are shown before you confirm.
  5. Confirm.

The money is set aside in your wallet. It doesn’t leave yet. Your investment shows as a request under My investments → Pending until the next rollover, when it’s turned into units.

Open Pending requests

You can cancel any time before the freeze window starts. See Rollovers and pending requests.

The value your investment starts at is set at the rollover, not when you press confirm. If the strategy moves in between, the number of units you get moves with it.

Your investment account number

The first time you invest in a strategy you get a new investment account with its own number, such as #2121954660. Quote it whenever you contact support about this investment.

If you already have an investment account in that strategy, the invest screen asks which one the money should go into. Pick your existing account to add to it. Choosing Create another investment account opens a second, separate holding with its own number and statement, which is rarely what people mean to do.

Joining a private strategy

A private strategy is hidden from Discover. The manager shares two things with you: the strategy link and an invite code.

Open the link and choose to invest. Portal asks for the invite code as part of joining the strategy. If the code isn’t accepted, check it with the manager before trying again.

Once you’re in, a private strategy works like any other. You can add more and withdraw normally, even if it stays private.

Adding more to an investment

To top up, open the investment under My investments and choose Invest more. The money goes into the same investment account, keeping one balance and one statement.

Open My investments

A top up is processed at the next rollover, exactly like a first investment. The strategy’s minimum investment applies to your first investment, not to top ups. This works for private strategies you already belong to as well.
