Deposits & Withdrawals FAQ
The common questions about moving money in and out. For the step by step on any one method, see Wallets & Funding.
Deposits
What can I deposit with?
| Method | Minimum | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (SEPA), euro only | €100 | Instant to 1 business day |
| Debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard) | $30 | Instant to 15 minutes |
| Crypto and stablecoins | Network minimum | On network confirmation |
Crypto covers Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Solana and Zcash, plus the stablecoins Tether, USD Coin, Euro Coin and Tether Gold.
Which network do I send crypto on?
Most of these assets exist on more than one blockchain, and the address you generate in the portal only works for the network it was issued for.
| Asset | Networks |
|---|---|
| Bitcoin (BTC) | Bitcoin mainnet, native BTC only |
| Ethereum (ETH) | Ethereum mainnet, Base, Arbitrum |
| Ripple (XRP) | XRP Ledger, destination tag required |
| Litecoin (LTC) | Litecoin mainnet |
| Dogecoin (DOGE) | Dogecoin mainnet |
| Solana (SOL) | Solana |
| Zcash (ZEC) | Zcash mainnet, transparent address |
| Tether (USDT) | ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum |
| USD Coin (USDC) | ERC-20, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Solana, BEP-20 |
| Euro Coin (EURC) | ERC-20 |
| Tether Gold (XAUT) | ERC-20 |
The wrong network loses the money
Check that the network selected in your sending wallet matches the one shown above the deposit address in the portal. Coins sent on a network we do not support at that address are usually gone for good, and there is nothing support can do to reverse it.
The same goes for the asset itself. Bitcoin means native BTC: wrapped tokens like WBTC and BTCB, Lightning payments, and forks such as Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV are not supported.
Is there a minimum deposit?
Bank transfers start at €100. Cards start at $30.
Crypto has no minimum imposed by us, so the only floor is whatever the network itself costs to use. Bear in mind you need roughly $10 of equivalent value to start trading on a live account, so a dust-sized deposit will arrive and then sit there.
How long does a deposit take to appear?
- Cards are usually done in fifteen minutes or less.
- Bank transfers are anything from instant to one business day.
- Crypto credits automatically once the transaction has enough confirmations. That is roughly ten seconds on Solana, about thirty seconds on Tron, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon and Arbitrum, one to three minutes on Ethereum, and twenty to sixty minutes on Bitcoin.
Congested networks run slower than any of those figures. So do banks.
Does XBTFX charge a deposit fee?
No. Every deposit method is free on our side.
That is not the same as free. Your bank or card issuer may charge you, and a crypto deposit costs whatever the network charges your sending wallet. Neither of those is ours and neither shows up in the portal.
My deposit has not arrived
Wait out the window above for your method first. Then:
- Crypto: find the transaction in your sending wallet and check it confirmed, and that the network it went out on is the one the portal address was generated for. Have the transaction hash ready.
- Card: check whether your bank actually authorised the payment. A decline on their side never reaches us.
- Bank transfer: ask your bank for the reference they sent it under.
Then open the chat widget with the amount, the method, the time you sent it and the reference or hash. Support can trace a specific payment, which is the one thing this page cannot do for you.
Wallets and trading accounts
What is the difference between my wallet and my trading account?
Your wallet holds your deposited funds. A trading account is what you log in to on a platform and what your positions open against. Money arrives in the wallet first and moves to a trading account second.
A deposit alone does not let you trade. It is half the job until you have transferred it across.
How do I move funds to a trading account?
On the Wallet tab, select Transfer, pick the source and destination, enter an amount or use MAX, tick the confirmation line and confirm. See Transfers for the detail.
Crypto is the exception at the deposit stage: a crypto deposit can be sent straight to a trading account instead of the wallet, if you tell it to.
Can I transfer between two of my own trading accounts?
Yes. Both dropdowns in the Transfer dialog hold your wallets and your trading accounts together, so either end can be either thing.
What if my wallet and my trading account are in different currencies?
Use Convert in the wallet first, which swaps one asset for another and shows you the rate and the fee before you commit. Then transfer.
If you would rather not convert at all, open a trading account denominated in the asset you actually hold. A USDT account settles its profit and loss in USDT, so nothing needs converting on the way in or out.
Withdrawals
How do I withdraw?
From the Withdraw page in the portal. Crypto asks for the asset, the amount, the network and a destination address. Bank transfer goes to the bank account already verified on your profile, so there is no field to type an IBAN into. See Withdrawals.
How long does a withdrawal take?
Requests are processed within 24 hours on business days. What happens after that depends on the rail:
| Method | After processing |
|---|---|
| Crypto and stablecoins | Network confirmation time |
| Bank transfer (SEPA) | 1 to 3 business days |
Minimums match the deposit side: €100 for a bank transfer, the network minimum for crypto.
Does XBTFX charge a withdrawal fee?
Not on crypto. You pay the blockchain network fee on the way out and we do not mark it up.
Bank transfers are different. We do not add a fee, but the banks in the chain can take their own, so the amount that lands may be a little less than the amount you asked for. That gap is the banks, not us.
Can I withdraw with positions open?
Margin backing an open position cannot be moved off the account. What is available to withdraw is the free balance, not the account balance, which is why the maximum offered is sometimes well below the number you see as your equity.
Do I need to be verified to withdraw?
Yes, and how far you need to be verified depends on how much and by what route. Verification levels set your daily withdrawal limits, and each withdrawal method shows the level it requires on its card. See Verification.
Still stuck
Open the chat widget. Support can see your account and the status of a specific transaction, which this page cannot.
