Fees & Commissions
A trade costs you money in one of two places: the spread, or a separate commission. The spread is the gap between the buy price and the sell price, so you pay it in the price itself. Commission is a charge listed on its own, beside the deal.
Which one you pay depends on the account type you chose when you opened the trading account.
Pro and Standard
| Pro | Standard | |
|---|---|---|
| Spreads | Raw, from 0.0 pips | Variable, from 1 pip |
| FX, commodities and other CFDs | $2.75 per $100,000 traded | No commission, cost is in the spread |
| Cryptocurrency | 0.05% | No commission, cost is in the spread |
| Share CFDs | 0.3% USA, 0.45% EU and Asia | 0.3% USA, 0.45% EU and Asia |
| Deposit fee | None | None |
Both account types are charging you for the same thing. Pro shows the cost as a separate line and leaves the price alone. Standard leaves the line off and widens the price. Share CFDs are the one case where both pay a commission at the same rate.
The account type is fixed to the trading account, not to your login. If you want to trade on the other one, open a second trading account in the portal and pick that type. You can hold both.
Commission on FX, metals, indices and energies
On a Pro account this is $2.75 per $100,000 of notional value traded. Notional value is the size of the position, not the margin you put up for it.
One standard lot is 100,000 units of the base currency, so on a pair where that comes to roughly $100,000 the commission is roughly $2.75. A 0.10 lot position is a tenth of that.
On a Standard account there is no commission on these instruments. The cost is already in the spread you traded on.
Cryptocurrency
Pro charges 0.05% of the value of the trade. On a $10,000 position that is $5. Standard charges nothing separately and prices it into the spread, the same as it does everywhere else.
Share CFDs
Single share CFDs carry a commission on both account types:
- US shares: 0.3% of the trade value
- European and Asian shares: 0.45% of the trade value
On a $5,000 position in a US share, that is $15.
Swaps
A position held past the daily rollover is charged or paid a swap, which is the cost of financing that position overnight. It can go either way: some positions are credited rather than charged, depending on the instrument and whether you are long or short.
Swap rates are set per symbol and per direction, and they change. The current figure for anything you trade is in the symbol specification on your platform, and on the trading conditions page at xbtfx.com. Close a position before rollover and no swap applies to it.
Moving money
Nothing on the funding side carries an XBTFX fee:
- Deposits are free on every method.
- Withdrawals carry no charge from us. Crypto pays the blockchain network fee, and a bank transfer can be trimmed by the banks in the chain.
- Convert does charge a fee, shown in the dialog with the rate before you confirm, and taken in the asset you are receiving.
Deposits & Withdrawals FAQ has the minimums and the timings for each method.
One cost worth planning around: if your trading account is denominated in a different asset from the one you deposited, you will convert at some point, and you will convert again on the way back out. Opening the trading account in the currency you actually hold avoids both.
What you were actually charged
The order ticket shows the commission before you confirm, and your trade history on the platform shows what each closed deal cost, with swap and commission itemised. That history is the record, not this page: the rates here are the schedule, and your deal is what happened.
For wallet side movements, the History tab on the Wallet page in the portal is the full ledger, conversion fees included.
Something charged that you cannot account for? Open the chat widget with the ticket number and support can pull the deal.
